Week of October 8th

Texas at Oklahoma
Oklahoma favored by 10
Oklahoma is at home on a year they believe theirs to win.  After losing the #1 spot to lose this is a statement game and Oklahoma is going to take care of business.

Maryland at Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech Favored by 14 1/2
Georgia Tech is at home after a game that they flew out of the gates with a burning fire.  They jumped all over NC state but did not keep the pressure.  GT is going to want to redeem itself in front of its home crowd to prove they are for real.  Since GT scores so fast sophomore Danny O'brien is going to be put to the test and I believe he will throw at least 2 INT's

Florida State at Wake Forest
Florida State favored by 11 1/2
This is the first game after dropping 2 games to OU and Clem.  There is a sense of urgency with the FSU program.  EJ Manual will be returning and the combo on Manual and Trickett will be too much for WF.  This is a statement game trying to prove they can win on the road.....with style.

Temple at Ball State
Temple is favored by 9
The Temple Owls through 5 games have only given up 19.1 points per game.  It was also against teams like Villanova and Penn State.  This Temple defense is going to give the Ball State fits, and they are going to stay fresh because Temple runs the ball very well and will control possession.

Iowa at Penn St
Penn st is favored by 4
This is a tough one.  Penn St does not give up many points, but does not score much themselves.  I believe Iowa will be able to stretch enough big play to keep them in the game enough that worst case they lose by a late field goal, still covering the spread.  Not to mention Iowa always gives Penn St a good game.

Pittsburgh at Rutgers
Pitt is favored by 7
Junior QB Tino Sunseri is the perfect fit for Pitt.  He has made mistakes this season but has grown so much that he is ready to exceed expectations.  He has one of the most explosive backs in college football Ray Graham.  Graham is going to keep third down's manageable and Sunseri will trust his coaches to lead them to a strong victory.  Do not forget their defense dominated #16 South Florida "high powered" offense.

Arizona State at Utah
Arizon State favored by 4 1/2
This should be a good showing from ASU.  Utah's Jordan Wynn is doubtful to play.  Even if he does play he has been light duty and ASU can get after the QB.  Also Utah has given up 254 passing yards per game and ASU is a far better passing team than any they have faced up to this point.  Utah played a strong Boise St team last week and have a lot of players all dinged up.  Arizona State came off an ugly win against the Beavers of Oregon State, they will be looking to play a cleaner game.  Osweiler will have a great game.

Arizona at Oregon State
Arizona is favored by 2
Arizona is going to dominate this game.  Arizona is 1-4, 3 of those losses are to top 10 teams, the other is the always strong USC.  Nick Foles is going to have a career day and get Arizona their first Pac 12 win.

Georgia at Tennessee
Georgia is favored by 1
Aaron Murray the QB for Georgia already has 1100 passing yards on the season.  Its impressive noting they played Boise St and South Carolina.  He is the reason they are going to win this game with style.

Auburn at Arkansas
Arkansas is favored by 10
Arkansas is flying high after their huge comeback win over Texas A&M.  They stay at home and face Gene Chisick's defending Auburn Tigers.  Auburn has surprised the nation but they are going to hit a speed bump with this strong Arkansas team.  Tyler Wilson has 1517 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions.  He is a strong competitor and is going to ride high after his 510 yard game last week.

6 for 7

Went 6 for 7 this week which is respectable.  The book I am using take a .952% commission of winnings putting us at a 84.67% win this week.  Good opener hope to keep it up!

Sat october 1st picks

Alabama @ Florida
Alabama is favored by 4 1/2
Alabama is just too strong.  Their defense is going to come up big on the road and that powerful offensive line is going to help control the line of scrimmage.

Hawaii @ Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech is favored by 4 1/2
Bryant Moniz is going to put the Warriors on his shoulders to victory. This dual threat QB has 11 passing TD's and 4 rushing.  He is growing into his roll and really starting to shine.  The young Hawaii defense is starting to come together and playing as a unit

Clemson @ Virginia Tech
Va Tech is favored by 7
I am going with Clemson.  This emotionally charged team is playing better than anyone else right now.  Tajh Boyd is a competitor, every time the ball is in his hands magic happens.

Rutgers @ Syracuse
Syracuse is favored by 1 1/2
These two pass heavy teams are going to make for an exciting game.  Rutgers has a strong defense and really makes things happen defensively, unfortunately their inability to run the ball is going to cost them.  Rutgers has not scored a rushing TD this season and it is hard to be successful on the road with out the ability to slow the game down.  Syracuse is going to win by 3.

Arizona @ USC
USC is favored by 12
Arizona has already played three teams in the top 10 this year and USC is not at that caliber.  Arizona will ride Nick Foles to victory.  He is just too good and will shine.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin
Wisconsin is favored by 10
This Wisconsin team is going to win the big 10 and is one of the favorites to goto the national championship.  They are good all across the board and in front of their home crowd are going to play very well.

For this week i might not do all 10... did not get a head start but this are good ones
side note

A new direction

It is becoming more and more popular for people to pick winners.  A lot of people pick the big games of the week.  I like to challenge myself further, I am going to pick a minimum of 10 games and pick winners included with score spread!

Fri 9/30
BYU vs Utah St
BYU is favored by 8
I pick Utah St, they have a 1-2 record 1 loss was a close game against defending champs auburn the other loss was a 1 point loss in overtime.  Utah St has a good running game and will stay in the game with their running attack.

Another week another upset

Besides the fact that Oregon State is going to rough up Arizona (not really an upset), Texas tech is going to have a game over Houston. On this night game the skies will light up with these two high powered offenses. I am picking Texas Tech because they know how to win a big game on a big stage. Look for big plays from Texas tech QB potts to win the game late 38-35!

Week Three Quack Quack

On the night of September 3rd, the entire nation watched as the Oregon Ducks crashed and burned. Chip Kelly's opening game looked nothing like anyone expected. Masoli and Blount Oregon's stars were shut down and Oregon was left with nothing but a memory. Saturday September 19th Chip Kelly's boys will shock the nation. With a defense lead win over Purdue, Oregon found a way to win. That needs to be Oregon's campain if they have hopes of a successful season. The Utah Utes hold a 16 game winning streak so they come in being the heavy favorites with 8 returning vamped defenders. Where Utah will faulter is their offense. The Utes offense only scored 24 points on San Jose st., where freshman Matt Barkley in his first start lit up the field for 56. The first half two physical defensives will display their stuff. But Saturday junior quarterback Jeremiah Masoli will come to play. This Oregon offense is to fast and to talent filled to be contained for four quarters. During the Boise St. game Masoli drove the Ducks down the field for one successful score, and it looked phenominal. Sorry Utes the sleeping Ducks are going to awake with a roar. With the Ducks having a huge 2nd half surge they will win 31-17.

Shoutout to OSU

I gotta give props to the Oregon State Beavers for pulling out the ugly win over UNLV. Justin Kahut came up big after lacking to perform with his missed field goal and extra point. Yet still i stay unimpressed with Sean Canfield, I love his big league arm but he seems too timid in big parts of the game. Too many dump routes he threw too when he has the big arm to hit open recievers down field. I stand by the notion that Ryan Katz should play, I strongly believe he is the future of Beaver nation and we need to get him game experience. With both Rodgers brothers healthy a simple roll would be perfect to give the future start for the Beavers game time experience. Congrats on the win but get ready for a game that can catapult us into the Pac-10 season.
